Welcome to Calm Space Reflexology in Kirkintilloch, Glasgow; Traditional & Ayurvedic reflexology for health, relaxation and renewal
I am an experienced and professional therapist who holds diplomas in Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Beauty Therapy. I now specialise in Reflexology as a direct result of the positive improvements that I have witnessed in my clients health. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.
I have lived in Kirkintilloch for many years and my business Calm Space Reflexology is based in Kirkintilloch, Glasgow. I am delighted to be able to offer Reflexology & Ayurvedic massage to people living in Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow and the wider surrounding area.
Complementary Therapies such as Reflexology & Ayurvedic massage treat the whole person holistically on a physical and emotional level. I have always been intrigued by the mind, body connection when it comes to health and wellbeing so decided to study Philosophical ethics part time at University. Discovering what some of the great philosophers of the past thought about how to lead a contented, happy life was thought provoking and very enlightening!
Reflexology is my complementary therapy of choice as it is a fascinating subject, to think that every part of the body has a corresponding reflex on the feet, hands and ears. This means when you have a reflexology treatment it not only benefits your feet but also your entire body. I have learned a wide range of methods over the years which allows me I to tailor a treatment for each client resulting in a much more effective reflexology session.
Recently I received training in Ayurvedic massage combined with reflexology. It was really interesting to learn about the concept of Ayurveda which can be translated as the “wisdom of long life”. “Ayurveda teaches us how to live in harmony with nature and ourselves and consider the scope and purpose of life.” I feel privileged to be able to offer this therapeutic treatment to clients using massage techniques that have been handed down over thousands of years.
In December 2019 I completed Clinical Reflexology training which is a University level qualification taught by The Complementary Therapy School. It is my intention to carry on learning so I can provide the most beneficial Complementary Therapy for my clients.
Happily, I provide reflexology treatments to support the wellbeing of parents involved with the charity Differabled Scotland. An amazing charity who have created a wonderful, supportive network of parents/carers and neurodivergent people of all ages.
The only way to know if you will benefit from Reflexology & Ayurvedic massage is to try it. I would be delighted to welcome you to Calm Space Reflexology, you’re in safe hands.

Ayurveda is an ancient system of Indian medicine. The term Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit words Ayu meaning life and Veda meaning knowledge. Ayurvedic body massage can be traced back 5,000 years and was widely practiced throughout India and Southeast Asia. Treatments in Ayurveda include diet and herbalism, aromatherapy, colour therapy, sound therapy and touch therapy. Ayurvedic principles remind people of the importance of maintaining harmony between themselves and the world around them which results in natural mental and physical balance.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy used by many to help with a wide range of issues including management of stress, insomnia, back and joint pain and to help improve feelings of low mood. The feet are like a mini map of the whole body and all the organs and systems are reflected on the feet in a similar arrangement as in the body. Reflex points are found on the soles, tops and along the inside and outside of the feet. There are also reflex points found on the hands, face and ears. By working on these points known as reflexes with a thumb walking technique any signs of imbalance can be detected and stimulated to improve energy flow.

Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins.
While it is not a cure, Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.
